There are several conditions that benefit from the use of myofascial release therapy.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Injury, inflammation, and overuse can cause adhesion within the dense woven fascial tissue and lead to widespread muscular dysfunction and pain throughout the body. As the adhesion develops, it limits mobility within the individual muscle fibers and thus limits mobility within the body. The goal of myofascial release therapy is to break down these adhesions by using a combination of stretching and gentle pressure along the path of the fascial sheath to restore mobility and increase blood flow within the tissue.

This technique can be easily incorporated into any treatment plan to ensure complete healing and restored mobility of any tissue.

Myofascial Release treats:

1

ITB Syndrome

Myofascial release along with stretching has statistically significant effect in improving the pain and disability of the iliotibial band.

2

Plantar Fasciitis

Studies have reported that stretching of the calf musculature and the plantar fascia are effective strategies for plantar heel pain.

3

Piriformis Syndrome

Myofascial Release may help to decrease tightness of the affected musculature and reduce irritation of the sciatic nerve.
